If I need it, I'll find it

Hey, Guys...

Just for the record, I want to make a few things shockingly clear:

  1. I know what OEM software is, and I care, I just don't want any. I run Free and Open-Source Software... so ... even if this was about a legitemate business proposition, There are no takers here.
  2. I'm not in need of any "natural male enhancement"... I assume that means "herbal" snake-oil with the stated purpose of making my penis larger. Frankly, I think my penis is adequate, and would not date a woman who thought otherwise.
  3. So far, I have managed to carry on through my adult life without the need for presciption pharmaceuticals. I'm not interested in V1@6r@ or C!al!s or L!p!t0r. If I was, I certainly wouldn't trust an email from an unknown source to provide credible medical advice.
  4. Thanks for the offer of finding me a Fu(kFriend tonight. I'm not interested.
  5. I don't have any accounts with CitiBank.
  6. I have not applied for a mortgage or any other sort of loan in over 10 years, and hope I never have to again.

Now, I know that these emails come from one of several sources:
  1. BotNets/Zombie computers
  2. Computers infected with viruses/worms/whathaveyou, but not in a BotNet
  3. Mass-email marketing operations which may or may not have a modicum of legitemacy

The thing is these emails continue to flood my inbox. This means that somehow, they are effective. It means that, if they are actual commercial messages, there are people actually responding to them, by converting the advertising expense into revenue. If they are intended to spread malware, it means there are enough people around who are stupid enough to fall for these things.

Ultimately, it is up to the people who read their email to select what they read or don't read. With another opportunity to select a President of the United States coming up, I sincerely hope (but don't have much expectation) that between now and November, the American people learn to be a little more discerning in their choice of leaders than they are in what emails they choose to open. I'll be looking for the evidence in my inbox.

I don't expect to FIND any, but I'll be looking.
